At Le Nordet, we give a second life to a precious Québec resource through upcycling.
Following the regulated black bear hunt in Québec, a practice overseen by the government and deeply rooted in local tradition, the animal’s fat is often discarded by hunters. Recognizing its remarkable benefits for the skin, we chose to recover it from a Québec tannery and transform it rather than let it go to waste.
Purified into a high-quality oil, naturally rich in omega-6, omega-9, and palmitic acid, it becomes the signature ingredient in our skincare line — at once innovative, effective, and sustainable.
With or without us, the bear hunt exists; we simply recover this precious resource that would otherwise be thrown away. Our approach reflects respect for nature, waste reduction, and local valorization. A simple yet meaningful gesture for beauty rooted in ethics and Québec’s northern nature.
